GLUSH
On air: Thursdays from 11pm-12am
Hosted by: Joe Tourk
GLUSH—a portmanteau of “Glitch” and “Lush”—is a journey into Ambient Electronic music. The focus is on two of its offshoot subgenres: IDM and Downtempo. Listeners of the station will encounter songs that feature a collage of sparkly and squelchy sound particles (IDM-adjacent) that are embedded in drawling, reflective soundscapes (Downtempo-adjacent). Some songs will be more heady and atmospheric; others will be more jittery and chaotic. I am thrilled to listen with you guys, meet new people and artists, and further explore the underground ambient scene!
About Your Host
Hello:) My name is Joe Tourk! I'm a 22-year-old who hails from San Francisco. I pass the time skateboarding, doing crossword puzzles, and, as you might already tell, listen to ambient/electronic music. I decided to run a modest radio show so I could share my excitement of the genre with fellow ambient enthusiasts (and anyone who appreciates music). Thank you! xoxo
