Anything But
On air: Thursdays from 4 to 6 pm
Hosted by: Lilyrose
“What do you listen to?”
“Oh just about anything… but country”
Green Mountain Cowboy Lilyrose is on a mission to eradicate this conversation, and prove that country music is far more than trucks and Blake Shelton. Anything But is focused on exploring the vast world of country music, and showcasing the country twang at the edge of every genre. From contemporary country and folk artists, country’s root in jazz and blues, to its influence on rock and roll, there is no music that hasn’t benefitted from country’s long tradition of working class heartbreak and storytelling. Let Lilyrose take you on a journey through music history, introduce new artists, and change your mind about one of music’s most maligned genres (overalls optional).
About Your Host
Lilyrose is a musician and writer from the wilds of Vermont. Though a junior at Lang studying music and film, she would leave it all behind for the chance to join the cast of survivor. When she isn’t writing for WNSM’s The Lamb or daydreaming about real maple syrup, you can find her explaining the merits of Pitch Perfect and why it’s actually a great movie.
