LONDON IS CALLING, pick up the bloody phone. London Calling is a show about all the music that's bubbled up from the grimy, psychotropic, unruly, dazed-out underbelly of various British subcultures. From Northern Soul grooves and psychedelic sways to glam rock ditties and punk bangers, London Calling leans into the scuzzy side of music’s most unabashedly iconic and wickedly underrated to bring you on an odyssey through time and space.
About Your Host
Bella Savignano is a writer and Anglomaniac researching the history of subcultural music and fashion at Parsons. She co-founded WNSM and edits The Lamb, WNSM’s very own music blog. She also hosts DTF with her very best friend, Lucia. Her writing has ended up in a few rags, from Clash to the groovement to Melodic Magazine and she used to own a vintage store that sold 1960s and 70s clothes, but now she just has an addiction to buying it. She frequently feels like 3 babies on each other's shoulders in a trench coat, and doesn’t know why people keep giving her responsibility.
