Newborn
On air: Fridays from 6 to 8 pm
Hosted by: Siani Mesa
Newborn is a multigenre show highlighting new artists/music releases every Friday! From Math Rock to Jazz to Alternative R&B & Brazilian Funk, this show aims to put you on to all the flavors and expand your taste. Some say the time of music we’re all in is stuck in a repetitive loop of sameness, but more often than not, there isn’t enough digging/exploring being done to discover new sounds and musicians. Lucky for you, Newborn will be doing some of the work for you. You’re welcome.
About Your Host
Siani is a fourth year Contemporary Music Major at Lang, born and raised in NYC. Her interest in music flourished thanks to her parents' diverse taste in genres like Hip Hop, R&B, Salsa, Merengue & Jazz and three influences of latin culture (Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, & Colombia). By the time Siani got to middle school, music grew into a passion when she discovered she was blessed with the gift of singing. Today you can find her working on her own music and singing with the student-founded a cappella group at The New School, Unjust Intonation!
