"true Spring" Radio is a sampling show that focuses on the influence of jazz, soul, and RnB on alternative hip hop. Each episode will blend together groovy songs from each genre that stretch from the 1960s to the 2000s. Artists will include: Outkast, Marvin Gaye, Sade, Madlib, JDilla, Ms. Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, and that's just scratching the surface babe! What do I mean by sampling you ask? The most unique aspect of alternative hip hop is the frequency of using old, funky tracks and remixing them into new beats; so I'll be playing both the sample and the sampler tracks for you! Turning the old to new! A rebirth! Just like the springtime...
